#myNCstoryDigital Photography students zoom into New York City

(Rock music) - [Voiceover] Eight exactly?
- [Voiceover] Yes. - At 125?
- [Voiceover] Yes. - [Voiceover] Okay, perfect. - [Stephen] The New York trip
came about this year as a Be World Ready project.

I exchanged some emails with
the Dean of International, and he suggested that we put through an international
opportunity for our students through their new Be
World Ready initiative, and that's how it all started. - [Jon] Stephen Dominick
walked into my office, and he was all excited about a trip to New York City for his
advanced photography students. And I thought at the time that
it was a great opportunity to get more people involved
in traveling abroad. New York City is a cosmopolitan city.

It's an exciting place to go. I think students, again, that
have never travelled further than Toronto or up north will have an opportunity to experience
a world class city, one of the best in the world. And take photography, take pictures while they're there and really
understand the different sort of communities you
get in New York City, the different cultural aspects. - [Rachel] I took pictures top of the rock from every angle possible.

When I went on the Manhattan
Bridge, took pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge,
basically just street views, any landscape I could look at, I was just like snap,
snap, snap, snap. (Laughs) - [Voiceover] It's always
nice being around other photographers because you'll
kind of watch them out of the corner of your eye and
see something that they catch, and you're like, (gasps) "I
would have totally missed that!" Or you see an angle and
you learn from them, from watching other
students or your professors, who kind of play with the angles and how you photograph
things and just the way you look at the world. It's always now, through... I'm always looking at the
world like this.

(Laughs) (drum music).
